A silver handled  buttonhook with multiple fleur-de-lis  motifs. Although the fleur-de-lis is from ancient French history it is more likely to be an American buttonhook Marks are simply STERLING and a pattern number 5625

a Victorian silver handled BOOT buttonhook by Levi & Salaman, established in 1873 at 143 Newhall Street, Birmingham. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1889. These long handled boot hooks were sometimes described as “stout ladies hooks” because they helped to reduce bending down to fasten the buttons!

The design of the handle is reminiscent of a sea horse.

an all-silver Victorian glove hook by Edward Souter Barnsley, established in 1887 at 45 Frederick Street, Birmingham. This company made some of the earliest glove hooks when the fashion for ladies gloves developed. It is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham 1888.
