a silver handled pistol grip Victorian buttonhook by an unknown Birmingham maker “HR” and date letter (r) for 1897. What makes this buttonhook unusual and a step-up in quality is the silver plated twisted shank. The twist would have have been hot forged in a Sheffield forge, an expensive process.

a WW1 washer handled BOOT buttonhook from the trenches. It is unusually long for a trench art so maybe used by a soldier who had restricted movement?
