a single Victorian boot hook hallmarked for London 1888. It is in the original Morocco leather case and condition of the buttonhook is quite exceptional, I guess it has rarely been out of the case.  15 inches long with a London shank which retains the original silver plating  as new. The heavy cast silver handle bears the maker’s mark FBM for Frederick Bradford McCrea, he was General Manager of the Army & Navy Stores in Victoria, London & were suppliers to  Military & Naval Officers & gentleman. Intriguingly, in addition to the hallmark it has the military arrow stamped on the handle which would indicate it was possibly purchased for an Officers Mess
