a Victorian silver handled boot buttonhook by Levi & Salaman, established in 1873 at 143 Newhall St, Birmingham. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1896. The design shows a serpents tail wrapped around the handle with a perching owl above.

Charles Boyton made the series of large figural boot buttonhooks featuring a swan, spaniel, eagle etc.

a silver handled BOOT buttonhook by unknown maker with heavily weighted cast STERLING silver handle. There is a rubbed assay mark but only the date letter M is readable.The design is of a charming little figure of a putti plus dragon fly among aquatic fronds of vegetation.

a much sort after figural buttonhook in the form of a parrot with glass eyes. These charming & rather naive heads are hand carved from a Corozo nut, a form of vegetable ivory. The husk of the nut can be carved to reveal the pale inner and leaving the dark brown husk as a contrast. Corozo is derived from the nut of the Tagua Palm which grows in the equatorial rainforests of central America
