a silver gilt  Victorian buttonhook with mis-stamped makers mark, hallmarked Chester 1896. There are very few Chester makers using the mark ?&C  but Cohen & Charles who made buttonhooks registered a mark C&C in 1895 in the same style, it is likely to be this company. The silver gilt finish is mostly rubbed on the handle bu intact on the steel shank.

this figural silver handled panther buttonhook has the remnants of a Birmingham hallmark for 1901. The makers mark is rubbed but is known to be by Adie & Lovekin. Nice ruby eyes to finish it off!
